Gas processing plant for Scotland

Total has awarded Petrofac a USD 791 million-plus contract to develop a 500MMcf/d gas processing plant on the Shetland Islands for the Laggan/Tormore development at Sullom Voe.

Petrofac’s Offshore Engineering & Operations (OE&O) business unit will develop the plant, supported by the company’s engineering and construction division. The scope of the contract includes engineering and procurement, supply, construction, commissioning, and start-up.

The plant will transport gas from the Laggan and Tormore fields, 125km NW of the Shetland Islands, via a pipeline to the Total-operated St Fergus Gas terminal north of Aberdeen. First gas from the project is expected in 2Q 2014.
