Explosive Decompression. No problem.

COG offers a variety of outstanding sealing compounds against explosive decompression (AED). FKM, HNBR and FFKM compounds which were especially developed for highest demands in the oil and gas industry. All compounds are tested extensive. Three compounds fulfill the NORSOK Standard and two of them are suitable for use in API 6A & 6D valves and wellhead equipment.

Important to know: Explosive decompression occurs when an extremely sudden drop of pressure takes place. The result is mostly a damaged elastomer sealing. Conventional elastomer sealings cannot be used in applications with AED as their resistance against such force is not sufficient.
