CDB Engineering cast and forged sight glasses are manufactured to visually inspect fluid in pipelines and designed to meet all customers requirements and high pressure application. Fabricated type is also available.

Sight glasses may be supplied with different kind of internal flow indicators such as fixed flappers , moving chain, floating balls, spinner or drip tube so that customers can make use of them in different industrial processes and plants.

Due to different phenomena (such as air venting, modulating loads, differential pressure across traps and water hammers) affecting plants engineering in industrial installation, it is important to choose the proper steam trap to assure minimal loss in latent energy at a reasonable cost.

CDB Engineering is skilled at manufacturing and supplying different kind of traps which can be divided up in three different groups:

- Thermodynamic: it works exploiting the difference in speed or kinetic energy between steam and condensate which pass through a fixed or modulating orifice.

- Thermostatic (balanced pressure/bimetallic): its functioning is based on the principle of expanding liquids and metals which drive a valve into or back it away from a seat.

- Mechanical (ball float/inverted bucket): condensate density makes a mechanical apparatus work, inducing a float or bucket to operate.

Moreover, as steam is frequently used to trace distribution lines in order to avoid freezing and reduce fluids viscosity, our Company manufactures and supplies manifolds and traps stations too.

Manifold body and cover are made of forged steel to avoid porosities which may occur with castings. These products can be placed at the beginning or at the end of lines to distribute steam to tracing systems or to collect condensate resulting from line tracing service.

Traps stations work perfectly in conjunction with all standard universal connection steam traps, are easily to operate and offer very minimal heat loss, so they are efficient as well. They are sturdy and strong in construction. These stations are horizontally installed and have a big range of pressure, 0 to 650 psig. They can be used with steam main drips, tracers and even the smallest process flows.

Steam Trap Stations are carbon steel, low carbon steel and stainless steel construction, sizes available from ½” to 1” with either NPT, SW and flanged connections.

CDB engineering manufactured strainers type “Y”, tee straight, tee angle, conical, basket, cartridge filters have been specifically designed to meet all customer requirements including for high pressure applications and are suitable for separation of the finest impurities held in gases and liquids.

Designed and made according to ASME B16.34 / ASME VIII Div.1 as standard, these products can also be supplied making reference to other pressure vessel codes. I.e. ASME B31.3 etc.

Standard features include low pressure drops at high velocities, stainless steel perforated baskets as standard, vents and drains with the chance to supply davit lifts, quick open closures, DP gauges.
