Carrè, April 2016 – At the beginning of 2016, COVIS Group announced that they have supplied the main components of the hub of the Maersk Connector carousel system.
As described by DeepOcean, the Maersk Connector is: “DeepOcean’s new build vessel due for delivery in the first quarter of 2016. This DP2 cable installation vessel is designed to meet the challenges of the interconnector and renewables market. The vessel is capable of grounding out with its seven points mooring system which allows the cable system to be installed without the requirement for a separate shallow water cable lay vessel, thus minimizing the number of cable joints required. The bespoke 7000Te carousel system accommodates bundled installation of high specification cables with no requirement to coil the cables.”
In recent years, Covis Project Management Team has steadily grown and developed relevant expertise in Energy-related Projects . The Group, in fact, has often been elected as turnkey supplier of strategic components by his main customers (well-know companies of the Energy Sectors) who require reliable support for the execution of their projects. On this occasion Covis had been assigned the job for the realisation of the Bearing Hub and the Kingpost - to DeepOcean specified design requirements - by Parkburn Precision Handling Systems.
