Under the motto "Fit for the Digital Future", AUMA is enhancing its service offerings. The retrofit service assists planners and plant operators in upgrading existing installations with modern, high-performance actuator technology. The goal is to improve plant performance and reduce operating costs.
The increasing digitalization and changing requirements are prompting many plant operators to seek smart, electric actuators that can be easily networked and ensure efficient, reliable valve automation. However, what should be done if a new control system is to be introduced or if new diagnostic requirements exceed the capabilities of existing actuator technology? Is it sufficient to retrofit suitable communication interfaces, or should the entire actuators be replaced? And how should one proceed if manually operated valves are to be automated?
As part of AUMA's retrofit service offering, experienced staff provide comprehensive advice on all these questions and work with the planner or operator to develop a customized modernization concept for valve automation in the plant. AUMA handles the entire project, from the detailed analysis of requirements, through the selection and design of suitable actuators, to installation and commissioning by qualified service technicians.
"Our primary focus is always on finding the most appropriate and resource-efficient solution for the specific application and ensuring the smooth, timely installation of the new actuator technology," explains Thomas Knecht, Director After Sales & Service at AUMA. The service can already look back on a large number of successfully completed retrofit projects in various plants, from power generation to water and wastewater treatment to tank farms.
