Frankenthal-based pump and valve manufacturer KSB has appointed Dr. Harald Schwager as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors. He succeeds Oswald Bubel, who has headed the Board since January 2018 and left the company on June 16. In addition to Schwager, Monika Kühborth, Andrea Teutenberg and Michael Eckert are members of the Board of Directors. Together with the Executive Board, the Board determines the strategic direction of the company and monitors its implementation.
The Doctor of Chemistry from Speyer has many years of management experience, including at BASF and most recently as Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board at Evonik Industries in Essen. Schwager is also a member of the German government's Science Council and holds several supervisory board mandates. Since the conversion of KSB into an SE & Co. KGaA in 2018, he has been a member of the Administrative Board. In his new role, he intends to focus primarily on continuity and strategic development. "Technological innovations can make life better. KSB plays a leading role here. We want to further strengthen this position while at the same time taking responsibility for the economy, society and the environment," says Schwager.
Stephan Timmermann, Chairman of the KSB Board of Management, thanked Oswald Bubel for his work as Chairman of the Board of Directors over the past eight years. “KSB's success is closely linked to his commitment and expertise.” At the same time, he is looking forward to continuing to work with Bubel's successor. “The handover to Harald Schwager will ensure continuity and strength on the Board of Directors and thus in the work of the Executive Board.”
