Over the past three months, the energy terminal “Deutsche Ostsee” has regasified 12.9 terawatt-hours (TWh) of gas, more than any other floating LNG terminal in Europe. The facility also set a new high in January: during the cold and snowy month, 4.4 TWh of gas were fed into the German transmission network—more than through any other LNG terminal in Germany. With this, Deutsche ReGas contributed the largest share of all German LNG terminals to supply security in January 2026 and has held this role for the fourth consecutive month since the start of the current heating season.
Ingo Wagner, Managing Partner of Deutsche ReGas, stated: “Deutsche ReGas delivers gas every day this winter to ensure a reliable heat supply in Germany. For the fourth month in a row, we are operating by far the most powerful LNG terminal in Germany. We achieve this performance without government support and are a cornerstone of energy supply in eastern Germany as well as for the entire country.”
Deutsche ReGas operates the “Deutsche Ostsee” energy terminal in the industrial port of Mukran. The terminal, along with the previously realized LNG project in Lubmin, are so far the first and only floating LNG terminals in Germany to be fully privately financed. In addition, the company plans to develop hydrogen electrolysis plants and solutions for hydrogen derivatives.
