NAMUR Releases Working Group Position on Ethernet-APL Device Requirements
The NAMUR position paper summarizes the requirements for the next generation of Ethernet-APL field devices and components from the perspective of end users.
NAMUR has published a new working group position titled “Requirements for the Next Generation of Ethernet-APL Devices and Components”. The publication involved all working groups and fields of the interest group that deal with Ethernet-APL, including the NAMUR APL Task Force. The NAMUR position paper is available for free download.
Ethernet-APL is a key technology for the digitization of the process industry. Currently, a limited number of Ethernet-APL devices are available that already enable the implementation of Ethernet-APL-based installations. However, for broad market acceptance in the future, the complete device portfolio must be available, including advanced features for safety and security.
