Oliver Twinsafe Supports Ultra-Deepwater FPSO Development Offshore Brazil

The order supports a new generation of FPSOs being developed for some of the most demanding offshore environments in the world. Installed in water depths of more than 2,000 metres, these facilities are being designed to deliver high-capacity oil production alongside large-scale gas processing, underlining the need for dependable, high-integrity valve technology throughout the topside process systems.

FPSOs continue to play a critical role in unlocking offshore reserves where fixed infrastructure is not practical, particularly in ultra-deepwater regions such as Brazil. In these applications, material performance, corrosion resistance and long-term reliability are essential. Manufactured in Alloy 625, the valve has been specified to meet the challenges associated with harsh offshore service and the demanding operating conditions typical of deepwater production assets.

Construction of the FPSOs is being undertaken across multiple international shipyards, with local content requirements forming an important part of the overall project execution strategy. The programme also reflects a broader shift in offshore development, with operators placing increasing emphasis not only on production efficiency, but also on environmental performance.

These next-generation platforms are being developed with a strong focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions per barrel of oil equivalent, helping position them among the more energy-efficient FPSO facilities in Brazilian waters.
