Philipp Leiding has taken on the newly created position of Sales Director for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH) at sealing manufacturer IDT. By consolidating sales responsibilities, the company aims to strengthen its strategic focus in the German-speaking region and reorganize its sales structure.
The 34-year-old office administrator has been with IDT since 2013 and has steadily advanced within the sales division over the years. Most recently, since 2025, he led regional sales at the Essen location before assuming the central sales leadership for the entire DACH region earlier this year.
The restructuring is accompanied by a personnel change: long-time Managing Director Wolfgang Schmid, who shaped the company’s sales operations for many years, is currently supporting IDT in an advisory capacity. He will fully retire from active duty mid-year due to age.
Under Schmid, sales in Germany were previously managed through three regional teams based at Essen, Annaberg-Buchholz, and Aschheim. Going forward, these responsibilities will be consolidated under the new DACH sales leadership and centrally managed by Philipp Leiding.
“We are very pleased to fill this key position with talent from within our own ranks,” says IDT Managing Director Dr. Kurt Vennemann. “In doing so, we continue the generational transition in key leadership roles while establishing clear structures for the further development of our sales organization."
