The valve manufacturers Bayard from France and Belgicast from Spain were recently acquired by the AVK Group. Despite the takeover, both companies will continue to exist as independent companies.
The two valve manufacturers are active in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and China, among other countries. They will support the AVK Group with their portfolio of products for the water industry. For example, the two companies produce gate valves, hydrants, butterfly valves, pressure control valves and other accessories, mainly for the water industry.
“We are delighted to welcome the Bayard and Belgicast companies to the AVK Group. This is an exciting acquisition with great potential”, said Morten Sæderup Nielsen, Group Director of AVK Water and new Chairman of the companies. “The new companies will significantly strengthen our position in several markets and business segments and complement our extensive knowledge in our water sectors and desalination technology.”
Belgicast has been active in Spain since 1957 as a valve manufacturer specialising in the water cycle (drinking water, waste water, water distribution networks and desalination). Belgicast manufactures its own valves, such as resilient seated gate valves, centric butterfly valves, check valves and water network accessories. With an annual turnover of around €55 million, the company employs almost 160 people in Spain and its subsidiaries in Portugal and Italy.
As a French industrial company since 1881, Bayard offers a wide range of products and services for the planning, construction, operation and maintenance of water networks to all those involved in the water sector. Its main products are hydrants, gate valves, control and regulating valves, check valves and accessories for water networks. The company employs 220 people and recently achieved a turnover of €90 million.
