Severn Trent Services has introduced the Capital Controls® Series 70CV3000 Chloromatic(TM) Intelligent gas flow control valve, a wall-mounted system designed to control chemical feed in water or wastewater applications.
The Series 70CV3000 eliminates the need for continuous operator monitoring and manual adjustment of the gas feed rate resulting from changes in flow and/or residual levels. The automation of the chemical feed process will yield a reduction in gas consumption for water and wastewater utilities, since manual system feed rates are based on peak process conditions.
The new gas flow control valve is used in conjunction with a vacuum regulator, gas flowmeter and an ejector to provide a complete disinfection system. The Series 70CV3000 responds to multiple process signals from a water flow transmitter and/or chlorine residual analyzer and is integrated with a microprocessor-based controller.
While the Series 70CV3000 features ten range capacities from 10 to 3000 pounds per day (up to 60kg/hr) for chlorine, it is also suitable for use with sulfur dioxide, ammonia and carbon dioxide. The system comes standard with an 11-step calibration of the valve plug that yields a true gas flow retransmission signal and eliminates the need for a separate D/P transmitter.
