Emerson Process Management has announced that it has sold over 1 million Fisher FieldVue digital valve controllers worldwide. First introduced in 1994, FieldVue instruments are said to minimize or eliminate variability and maximize uptime.
Danny Nelson, vice president of instruments for the Fisher division, was a mechanical test engineer in the mid-1990s, supporting the new FieldVue instrument design. FieldVue has received several industry awards and has 50 patents for its innovation and reliability. By 1999, the installed base of 100,000 FieldVue DVC5000 instruments had delivered 1 billion hours of run-time in process plant environments.
