Dr Werner Sievers has been re-elected as Chairman of the Executive Board by the Interessengemeinschaft Regelwerke Technik e. V. (IGR). On 9 November, he was elected by the voters, who confirmed him as Chairman of the Executive Board for a further four-year term of office.
“In my next four years in office, I am committed to maintaining the high level of performance of our competence centres”, says Dr Werner Sievers. “Given the shortage of skilled labour in our industry, recruiting new members and internal succession planning are the main priorities.”
Jürgen Potthoff was elected as deputy. The mechanical engineer is also in charge of technical standardisation and quality management in engineering at BAYER AG. He takes over from Dr Hans-Jürgen Henkel from Nobian Industrial Chemicals GmbH.
Dr Susanne Winkler is taking over the management of the Mechanics & Process Engineering Competence Centre at IGR. The technical chemist comes from Siemens AG, where she works as Lead Consultant Codes & Standards. She replaces Elfira Blumenthal, who has set up her own business as a consultant, author and speaker on standardisation topics.
The IGR has a total of four competence centres. They transfer new regulations and the state of the art into operational practice and support members in technical matters. Elisabeth Maria Wächter-Schäper, Dr Manuel Scholz and Dr Uwe Bäumler were each confirmed as heads of the EMR Technology, Materials Technology and Process Safety Competence Centres.
