NAMUR is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year and is planning a lavish anniversary celebration. As part of the celebrations, the interest group of users in the process industry has revised its logo and will bear a special anniversary logo in 2024.
75th birthday of NAMUR
The new logo marks the start of NAMUR's anniversary celebrations, which will culminate at the NAMUR Annual General Meeting 2024 on 21 and 22 November. Until then, atpinfo.de and atp magazin, the official organ of the interest group, will continue to feature exclusive reports and background stories from NAMUR's eventful past and future.
The sponsor of the 2024 NAMUR Annual General Meeting is Emerson, and the theme of this year's event will be "Boundless Automation for Ecosystems in Action". The US manufacturer will present its extensive portfolio of solutions across the automation pyramid and introduce a new concept for the automation of process plants with "Boundless Automation".
First NAMUR Annual General Meeting took place in 1949
NAMUR can look back on an eventful history since it was founded on 3 November 1949. At that time, employees in measurement and control technology in the chemical industry met for the first time in Leverkusen to discuss current problems in their specialised field. NAMUR was founded at the 2nd main meeting in the same year. The founding fathers of the interest group also formed the first board of directors: Berthold Sturm (Bayer), Otto Winkler (Hüls) and Josef Hengstenberg (BASF) were already leading figures in measurement and control technology before the Second World War.
