Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA) will restart crude oil production at the Rijn field offshore of the Netherlands.

Shut down for 12 years, TAQA integrated recent advances in technology to restart production in the Rijn field they acquired in 2007. The project includes an upgrade of the TAQA-operated P15-C offshore facilities, workovers on five oil producing wells and five water injection wells. All water produced will be re-injected into the reservoir and newly installed Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESPs) enhance production.

The field is located in Block P15, 40km northwest of the Port of Rotterdam in 25m of water. The Rijn wells are attached to the TAQA-operated P15-ACD offshore production and processing plants and a pipeline exports crude oil production to the Port of Rotterdam. Currently, the production rate from the Rijn field is 3500bpd.
