Technip has added a new contract to existing work with PDVSA in its Mariscal Sucre natural gas development. Technip said it would provide supply and installation of subsea flowlines and onshore gas processing equipment for the state-owned Venezuelan company, as well as support for subsea, onshore and offshore facilities.

Upstream had already reported that the company had won contracts for basic engineering on the upstream segment of the project. It had also tied up a management and design contracts for more detailed engineering and subsea equipment. The latest contract also assigns Technip the supply and installation for the flowlines.

Mariscal Sucre contains four gas fields on the northwest part of the Gulf of Paria and is believed to contain 11 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. Drilling will take place at water depths of 328 to 427ft. Mariscal Sucre is one of two projects planned to feed into a rail system that is part of the Delta Caribe LNG project.
