Special material for highly sensitive production processes

Highly sensitive production processes are frequently encountered in the food and pharmaceutical industries, biotechnology and medical technology. For this application, the seal manufacturer C. Otto Gehrckens has developed the EPDM compound AP 307.

The special material from the COG HygienicSeal series has the most important approvals for applications in these highly demanding industries. In addition to the safety test in accordance with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600, AP 307 has been approved in accordance with USP Chapter 87 and USP Chapter 88 Class VI up to +121 °C. The EPDM compound has also successfully passed the test for cytotoxicity (according to ISO 10993-5:2009).

The low migration values of this EPDM compound are particularly required in applications where there is a risk of contamination with the media to be sealed, e.g. in cell cultivation or insulin production. In addition, the special material demonstrates high resistance in contact with CIP and SIP media and is also suitable in applications with aggressive WFI water.

The operating temperature range from -40 °C to +150 °C makes the AP 307 a flexible size for the special requirements in the production process.
