Technava, an Athens-based supplier and manufacturer specialising in shipbuilding, has recently entered into a partnership with a Swiss supplier of flow solutions.
Shipping is an important industry in Greece, as the country controls around a fifth of the world's merchant fleet. To ensure continuous and efficient operations, ship owners and operators rely on suppliers who can meet tight deadlines and offer durable and cost-effective components.
In addition, suppliers often act as a link between European designers and the Asian shipyards that build many of the vessels. Together, GF Piping Systems and Technava therefore offer complete thermoplastic flow solutions and comprehensive project support for various applications on board ships.
“Enrichment for the shipbuilding market”
The Swiss provider of flow-through solutions is deeply rooted in the maritime sector. Applications include water treatment and distribution, grey and black water, cooling, exhaust gas cleaning and ballast water. In addition to pipes and fittings, the company offers measurement and control technology as well as automation and connection technologies.
Technava has been active as a provider of equipment and technical support for the Greek shipping industry since 1968 and specialises in newbuildings as well as retrofits and conversions. The company is known for its engineering expertise and co-operation with the leading manufacturers in the maritime sector.
Julian Backes, Head of Sales Marine EMEA at GF Piping Systems, emphasises the importance of the partnership with Technava: “The Greek marine industry is an important global market. We are convinced that our presence and focus on complete solutions can enrich this market by bridging the gap between Greek owners and Asian shipyards. Together with our partner Technava, we are now able to offer modern and flexibly configurable piping systems to one of the world's largest merchant fleets - true to our motto 'Connections for Life'.”
