A German company in the field of torque-controlled, precision bolting technology is extremely satisfied with its results for 2023. The outlook for the new financial year is also extremely positive. This optimistic assessment results not only from the promising potential in the industries served to date, but also from new opportunities in steel construction. Those responsible are pleased that the order situation has already improved significantly compared to 2022.
“2023 was not a record year, but it was significantly better than expected. Irrespective of this, we are very confident that 2024 will also be a good year”, explains Andreas Wanke, Managing Director of HYTORC-Seis, and Patrick Junkers from HYTORC Barbarino & Kilp. “We have noticed greater demand in the mechanical engineering and infrastructure segments in particular - i.e. road, rail and energy.” The number of HYTORC service assignments has also increased more than expected, confirms Wanke: “The same applies to support during downtimes with rental equipment.”
Focus on steel construction
The HYTORC products also exceeded expectations in many areas. The lithium battery torque wrenches are particularly worthy of mention here. “We have also seen increased interest in our zWasher and backUp-Washer washer systems and in digital hydraulic high-torque screwdriving technology”, says Patrick Junkers. The anti-twist washers in the Washer series in particular are becoming increasingly popular, as they not only improve occupational safety, but can also optimise the deployment of personnel and thus help to save time.
According to the Managing Director of HYTORC Barbarino & Kilp, which is based in Krailing near Munich, 2023 could even be a groundbreaking year. This is due to the result of an IGF research project on yield point-controlled tightening of bolted connections in steel construction. Because this tightening process in conjunction with HV fittings can be considered a reliable tightening process, there is the possibility of establishing and standardising a further pretensioning process for steel construction. “This opens up new fields of activity for HYTORC in steel construction as a whole, but also in the underwater or water change area”, says Junkers.
Hydrogen as a trend topic offers great potential
In addition to new business areas due to institutional decisions, Patrick Junkers and Andreas Wanke also expect growth opportunities in the various sectors. Andreas Wanke, Managing Director of HYTORC-Seis in Dörth, Rhineland-Palatinate, includes chemicals and petrochemicals, aviation and “there will be major investments in rail and road as well as in the general infrastructure”. This also includes energy supply, including research and development. “The whole hydrogen issue also harbours great potential for us.”
Patrick Junkers and Andreas Wanke do not want to define specific targets for the coming year. The only thing that is clear is that sales will be further strengthened - in terms of personnel and with new expertise, says Patrick Junkers. This is precisely one of HYTORC's strengths, Andreas Wanke emphasises: “We stand for fast and competent help at all times. What counts for us is not just the sale, but the long-term partnership. HYTORC has the largest selection of different types of tools - more than 120 models.”
