Trial operation for “Deutsche Ostsee” energy terminal launched
The regasification vessel has reached the industrial harbour of Mukran and moored at the specially upgraded berth 12.
The trial operation of the “Deutsche Ostsee” energy terminal in Mukran's industrial harbour has begun. This took place after the State Office for Agriculture and the Environment of Western Pomerania granted permission for an early start as a legal requirement for the trial operation on the basis of Section 8a of the Federal Immission Control Act.
The regasification vessel (FSRU) ENERGOS POWER has arrived at the industrial port of Mukran and moored at the specially upgraded berth 12. The ENERGOS POWER is the first of the two regasification vessels planned for the terminal. On board the ENERGOS POWER is liquefied natural gas from Snøhvit, Norway, which was taken directly from the LNG tanker 'Maran Gas Marseille' in Montoir, France, a few days ago.
The aim of the trial operation is to test and commission all shore- and ship-based systems. Deutsche ReGas publishes further information for local residents on its website. As planned, the NEPTUNE will then leave the harbour in Lubmin in the spring of this year and start operations in the industrial port of Mukran in the summer following the necessary conversion work. This will eliminate the LNG shuttle traffic in the Greifswald Bodden to Lubmin. The tanker SEAPEAK HISPANIA off the coast of Rügen will also leave the Nordperd roadstead in a few months.
