Olaf Lies, Lower Saxony's Minister for Economic Affairs, Transport, Building and Digitalisation, visited the site where Hartmann Valves was founded in Burgdorf-Ehlershausen. The meeting focused on dialogue about the challenges and opportunities associated with the energy transition.
The conversion and new construction of cavern storage facilities for hydrogen, deep geothermal energy projects and the challenges in the service industry were key topics of discussion between Minister Lies and Hartmann Valves. As a system provider of ball valves and wellheads, the company is a supplier for storage technology and deep geothermal energy, among other things.
The utilisation of caverns for hydrogen storage will be crucial in the future in order to make renewable energies base-load capable. With its existing cavern storage facilities and the first pilot projects for the storage of hydrogen, Lower Saxony is on a promising path towards a reliable energy supply.
As the construction of further caverns for hydrogen storage will also be necessary, Hartmann Valves can provide support here as a supplier for the underground storage facilities and a regionally based company with expertise. The close co-operation between politics and business is crucial in order to create the framework conditions for expansion and new jobs.
