Due to the surge in electromobility and the energy transition, battery production has developed into a sector with strong growth. Battery manufacturing requires the highest standards of product quality and safety, necessitating collaboration with capable partners for comprehensive containment processes.
EBRO, a provider of valves, drive technologies, and automation solutions, supplies battery manufacturers with an extensive range of non-ferrous metal-free valves. A highlight of this offering is a sealing system with an inflatable cuff for contamination-free processing, which was introduced in September 2023 at Powtech in Nuremberg.
To ensure battery production without contamination risks, EBRO offers six specially adapted types of valves that ensure transport, precise dosing, explosion decoupling, the discharge of difficult media, and contamination- and emission-free processing in closed systems.
The INFLAS® shut-off and control valve, with its innovative inflatable safety cuff, is at the heart of the non-ferrous metal-free and TA Luft-compliant range. This valve design prevents elastomer abrasion during the closing process and any contaminations or chemical reactions with the active materials of the battery cell. This is achieved by a closing principle that eliminates friction between the valve disc and the elastomer.
“Thanks to our presence in key markets and numerous customer inquiries, we at EBRO ARMATUREN have early on delved into the special requirements of battery production”, points out Application Manager Andreas Kühn, referring to the specialized know-how that has been incorporated into the development of the INFLAS® valve.
