Ludwigsburg - At this year´s ValveWorld - from 02. to 04. December 2014 (hall 3, stand B85) - Goetze KG Armaturen will be present with an extended product rance. The series 484 and 684 will complete the range of pressure reducers for pneumatic or hydraulic applications by a sixth product line. The fittings of the new series 484 and 684 withstand inlet pressures of up to 60 bar and reduce the outlet pressures down to min. 0,5 bar.
Process pressures of up to 50 bar
Generally, the pressure reducers type 484/684 are applicable wherever air, vapours or liquids have to be reduced to a lower pressure level. The desired outlet pressure can be adjusted easily by means of an ergonomically designed hand wheel that can be locked into a resting position and therefore prevents unintentional adjustment of the set pressure.
With this pressure reducer, constant process pressures of up to 50 bar can be set in compressed air supply plants. The new series significantly exceeds the usual 12 to 16 bar. In addition, pressures in industrial gas plants can be regulated, glass bead blasting facilities can be operated or lifting bags can be filled. The series 684 is manufactured in gunmetal and with its solid design it is also suitable for the strenuous conditions in the shipbuilding industry and offshore plants, for example the provision of starter air.
Additional options
The pressure reducer with type description 484 is identical in design to the pressure reducer 684, but is made completely of stainless steel instead of gunmetal. With this additional version and with the option to choose EPDM as sealing possibility, both series offer nearly unlimited fields of application. Especially in the sector of industrial gases, there are countless applications where various different media have to be controlled and plant components have to be protected. Examples are the production of special gas mixtures, inerting of tanks or heat treatment in metallurgy.
30 percent higher flow
Unique features of this new Goetze product are large flow volumes with minimal pressure drop over the entire adjustment range. Olaf Schulenberg, head of development, states: "On the one hand, we have compensated for the inlet pressure prevailing on the sealing disc and on the other hand, for outlet pressures up to 15 bar, we have used a specially shaped elastomere diaphragm." Therefore the flow volumes are up to 30 percent larger than those of comparable competitor products.
New sizes up to DN 100
In addition to the expansion of the existing product program of the proven series of flanged pressure reducers type 682, Goetze has expanded the range of nominal diameters from DN 80 up to DN 100. So it is now possible to protect e.g. drinking water supply plants in buildings or industrial plants with higher demand against too high supply pressure.
Particularly noteworthy with this fitting is the fact that despite its size we did not dispense with the proven moulded diaphragm. The aim was to maintain the considerably finer response characteristic of the regulator compared to equipment with rigid diaphragm. Thus, in cases of varying usage, the adjusted pressure can be held significantly more constant.
