Our wave-ed box combines safety, user-friendliness and flexibility in a cost-efficient and technically advanced alternative to the traditional Ex d box.

This approach is relatively unknown in the market but offers numerous installation advantages that are not always immediately recognized. The limit switch boxes, as well as the terminal strip and cable gland comply with all regulations according to Ex e (DIN EN 60079) and built-in limit switches are certified according to Ex d (DIN EN 60079-1)  

Alternative to Ex ia 

For intrinsically safe circuits, you always need an Ex i barrier in addition to the limit switch box, which produces additional costs. Moreover, the verification of the intrinsic safety in the system takes considerable time. These two points are eliminated with our Ex ed boxes. 

Alternative to Ex d  

Ex d housings are often large and heavy. Additionally, the ignition gaps must be extremely protected, as even minor scratches can cause flame transmission. Only aluminium or stainless steel are available as materials. Our Ex de box does not need ignition gaps for the use of enhanced safety and is also available in a plastic version made of conductible Vestamid. It is compact and can be installed in spaces with limited space. It is also a cost-effective alternative for corrosive environments. 

The combination of Ex d with Ex e therefore offers many advantages and achieves the same Ex protection level as conventional ignition protection types. The Ex de limit switch boxes are available in the wave, neptun, and flex series and have been successfully used in numerous projects.
