Power management company Eaton has signed a letter of intent with AVIC Aircraft Company Xi’an Branch to supply fuel tank inerting and fuel distribution systems for the MA700 regional turboprop airliner. In addition to designing and manufacturing customised components, Eaton will provide engineering, development and support certification services for both aircraft systems.

"Eaton's ability to integrate customised solutions using proven technology and mature products helps lower program risk for our customers and provide superior, cost-effective solutions."

The newly designed MA700 will feature many of the industry's most advanced technologies and will be the world's first turboprop aircraft to use an advanced fly-by-wire flight control system. It also will provide lower operational and maintenance costs along with more eco-friendly performance. The aircraft is scheduled to enter service in 2019.
